much better than the old Graphire i had a while back. it's black, and the buttons are programmable. incidentally, all i have to do is hit a button to open World of Warcraft now! xD and i programmed a button for Photoshop as well. (they're the FN1 and FN2 buttons on the tablet. above those are back and forward buttons, typically for web-browsing).
it cost me $70 and i would definitely recommend it to anyone who has the money. the other versions, like the Bamboo Fun, and the Bamboo Craft only have differences in what they come with, and their design is a little different as well. both of them come with software, while the regular Bamboo doesn't. this was fine for me, as i already have all the software that i need, but if you don't have Photoshop, and you want an image editing program, you might want to pay the extra $20 (the Bamboo Fun is $100) because it comes with Corel Painter, and Photoshop Elements 6.0.
the Bamboo Craft on the other hand, is geared towards digital scrapbooking, and that comes with various software and a magazine subscription (the Bamboo Craft is $130) they both also come with a small mouse, where as the regular Bamboo doesn't.
i have the smaller Bamboo tablet, 3x5, and to be honest, it's perfect. although if you like more room, that would be the only reason you'd want to go any bigger. overall, i love it. and it was definitely more than worth what i paid for it.
off to drawing now. cheers everybody
